I suddenly have so much readings this semester. I really need e-books read to me because I go through books slow as a snail, and they put me to sleep even if I am interested in it. Did I mention I don’t like reading? ): on top of that, Slayers Try finished downloading and I am going through that, so I haven’t been drawing much lately (except for the picture above, which is started and completely during various lectures.) The cg I am colouring… cannot be shown. I was originally planning to submit it to DA anyway despite its content, but after second considerations I decided against it for my personal safety/reputation.

In short. I don’t have anything to show :l

Slayers is great though. Although I like Next a bit more tha Try, because Try is very romance-oriented (in a way) and goes even slower at times than Next. And there’s no Phibrizzo in Try ): although there are lots of pretty faces of the sinister minister Xelloss, so I am relatively happy. The only thing I am unhappy about is as I watch more of slayers and as they explain their world/crisis, it looks like I copied their idea more and more. Although Slayers IS my favourite anime, I only managed to watch a few (under 10) scattered episodes in China because of inconvenient air time, and thus I didn’t have a clue about their world story. Tedious; but oh well. I hope no one will accuse me.

A sketch of a sudden idea I had. It solved quite a bit of my worldly problems :) no they are not the same people xD you’ll know at least two of them if you had been voting at my manga site.

Back to really academically busy days… which resulted in nothing but more procrastination and more attempts of drawing. I kind of like to stay in residence better than at home at one point.

Except our heat is hot as hell and I can’t sleep at night T_T

First day of school… again. I didn’t print out the timetable from the school server, and down to hell it went last night so I had to get up AT 8:30 in the morning to get it from the office… T_T although I am pretty proud of myself that I got up that early and went to sleep as early as 1 am. It was ok… But I can’t exempt from theory this semester; so it’d be one more course than last semester. And the history prof threatened us that we’d die in horrible misery if we don’t follow up our work.

On a brighter note, I drove back to london (2-hour drive) without doing anything stupid on the road, horray! I was speeding at 130km/h too. sorry if that’s a loser number for you but there’s a limit on how much I want to put myself in risk of getting a ticket. *is a chicken.* *saw two police cars and 2 ticket-victims on the way there.* Cruise control is so cool! I usually don’t like to step on gas so hard… so it’s pretty hard for me to keep up 130 manually cus I always feel like I’m hurting the car ): (though the engine turn speed never exceeds 3000 if I drive..) I can actually feel the gas pedal being pressed down when I set cruise to accelerate. It’s kinda spooky. But I prefer fingertip control over um, feet control :D

My Slayers Next finished downloading! Although it was dubbed by (REALLY BAD FUNNY ACCENT ENGLISH *cries*) and kind of old, I still loved it :D I love adventure anime set in fantasy world. (good ones only, of course) I rarely hear about those anymore, either they are infected by modern world or IS modern. ANYWAYS, Xelloss is still funny! He and Phibby are still my favourites. Sometimes it gets a lil corny (intentionally inserted corniness as fanservice too… shame) but it’s still coOol.

I have enough confidence in where the plot for Blackbird would go, and enough details so far for up to about 20 chapters (lol..), and all this has been established for a while since I didn’t have time to work on it in the last while… now I looked back to the summaries I wrote down (so i don’t forget like I did last time), I realized that I have really uneven character involvement. I tried to make sure everyone that’s supposed to be important are always involved, but so far at least Keri and Weirin aren’t involved enough until the third or fourth book (9th chapter and on). I had to change so much stuff about individual events in the second book just so they don’t seem neglected, but they are still portrayed as pretty much useless next to Visrin.

Also I kind of realized that the amount of details–as in event details, such as making sure that I illustrate every move done in a fight sequence and sutff like that–is almost as bad as Lord of the Rings for a manga. The first book spans 3-4 days, the second book spans 1 day, (lol…) the third a few days, the fourth a week etc. I didn’t want to cut anything out; everything has to take time to be explained little by little so no one would bore the hell out of themselves reading a whole book of Maesltrom theory, but I probably wouldn’t get anywhere far in the next few years if I keep to my plan. I made the story too big for a first timer (again my last manga DOESN’T COUNT ]: cus it’s horrible and I stopped after the first chapter) hobby-manga artist, but this is also what made it so uncontrollably fun and addicting.

I’m colouring the last showable commission for a bit… Ilana’s professor in iro Chaos, the same person who commissioned the crusader pic I did a while ago as well as the assassin cross I just finished. I can’t believe I JUST found out that both her and Whacko Jacko are in Aureus… Remi messaged me yesterday and I found out. We chatted for a bit and I missed RO again >> Aureus rulz0rz!

I think right now it looks kinda scary though, cus it has so much exposed skin, and I STILL don’t know how to colour skin or muscles. I need to study some basic anatomy for my own good… the way I do hair and skin doesn’t match the way I do clothes at all.

On other news, I found the perfect solution to my drawing boredom. I drew so much that drawing has become something like knitting for girls; I get super bored when I am cging a picture, because I have nothing to think about and it annoys me so much. One day I told a friend that I wish there’s something that would read me stuff while drawing so I can be more productive. The radio reads me things of very little importance and has too much ads. Then yesterday I finally decided and downloaded a text-to-speech program, and found composer biographies for it to read. It worked like magic! It was so cool that I can do 2 things at once, and most of all, I can finally justify myself spending hours drawing, cus I’m learning at the same time ;) (not really) I wish I can find documents of books online though, then I can finish reading that Harry Potter book that I should give back to my friend before the holiday ends… and many other books that I did not have a chance to read because I am too lazy.

3 weeks of xmas break ends in 4 days. boohoo. Perhaps my opinion differs from that of my parents, but it was a great one. I drew a lot huahuahuahauhauua :D
