For the manga site. It’s a tree from afar with branch-roots reaching into a thin layer of water. The brown hue gave it a kind of smoggish feel; I just want a misty effect, nothing suffocating, since it is a depiction of some holy ground underground. Blue/gray may help but they make a kind of distracting background colour in this pastel-ish style I am drawing in.
Last exam today :D I studied my eyes out and wrote my hand off, but at least now i have 4 months of time ahead of me, which I shall wisely waste on my childish ambitions. It is a relief that I don’t have to take any more history courses (unless I want to) because although it is really an eye-opener, and it made me appreciate learning a lot more, it’s just not my thing. It saddens me to see my beautiful 90 in my exams destroyed by my 70s in the essays.
Actually this post was just an excuse to try out the embed code from youtube to save some funny videos. This one in particular made me recall the funny Japanese shows that I always watched when I was in China. How glad I am that Canada doesn’t have any of this creativity and sense of fun.
NOT coming soon =[ even though I am done revamping most of the pages. I’ll update it when I finish the layout for my manga site as well. As you can see, this is just a pimped up version of the current layout (and the first lalaland layout if anyone remembers… I was fond of the idea) and not much have changed. I made it compatible with 800×600 browsers as well and got rid of most of the fancypants fading transitions. This site version is (quasi) Antique-proof!
And I just got a hold of some recordings of my class recitals. They’re brutal to listen to because a lot of the things in there don’t sound like what I want it to sound like at all, and I never thought it’d sound like that. Anyway, here is Debussy’s Estampes:
I wins the Anime North design contest! That means I has a table in the artist alley ^_____^ I kind of feel bad about saying what I said about them before now, but at the same time, I meant what I said, so I guess I can’t redeem myself from guilt. I think i will be sharing the table with Moony and Jelobee, (hopefully the latter will agree and come! I missed her art and presence dearly =[ ) but the policies are that only one of us may sit at the table at anytime. So I guess the other two of us will sit at a wall across the table or something like hobos when we’re not goingn around to explore the con. (not much for a not-anime-fan like me to explore though lol)
Either way, I will have to whip up some fanarts as well to sell. I am not so sure about some of the pics I was going to sell anymore because I don’t like them. But I am thinking about doing a set of Kingdom Hearts II bookmarks, a Bleach fanart, (Rukia + kaien?byakuya?ichigo?renji? man she has so many to choose from) and a deathnote fanart. I am going for the big ones here because I am not fan enough to draw for smaller series and I want money lol ”’orz
So in summary, for the Con season this year, I will be attending Anime North (May 25-27 in Toronto), Anime Evolution (Aug 17-19 in Vancouver) and CNAnime, MAYBE (Sep 1-3). If all goes well this season then I shall make it a tradition to sell at cons every year! (and maybe take the opportunity to go to some major ones in the states as well)
