Woot didn’t get anything done in June! this is terrible LOL. There’s still 10 more days… time to procrastinate and not call it a wasted month. I did update the manga on time and practice a lot of piano… At least I can play Scarbo from beginning to end now. *tries to make self feel better* I tried so hard last year to convince my teacher to not make me play it because of monstrosity, both in technical difficulty and in strangeness. But now that I have nothing else to practice, I had to play it. Just like Prokofiev’s 3rd sonata, I had such a bad time learning it because it’s so terribly weird (to play in front of non-music majors), but I was able to learn to enjoy both afterwards.
I have 3 more pictures to get through before I can finally call myself free and work on something for my own enjoyment ;_; (it’s my 2007 resolution.) So I will have a more meaningful post soon LOL (hopefully) |

mary: it’s strange because if you listen to it without knowing its context (in this case, the poem), it will take a while for you to realize what’s going on and what kind of mood it is trying to achieve. Not to mention its lack of a tonal center and Impressionistic writing doesn’t make it sound like a likeable piece very much…. About blackbird, yes it is more towards how I want the story to feel like now, although a lot of people seem to like the older version more xD

Man, piano’s totally the prettiest instrument. That’s so neat that you’re like at school for music. How’s the piece “strange”?
By the way…I gotta say that the rewriting of Blackbird is marvelous. You’re changing it A LOT but the changes give us such a sharper idea of the characters. Veloce seems a lot less remote, too – even if still to the rest of the cast, there’s more of a connection between her and us, the audience. Keritzel has a lot more kick to him, too. x3 You continue to be an inspiration to me.
