Commission WIP again (: I have been juggling between a number of things so the turnaround time for each has been pretty slow.

Trying out a new way to apply colours, similar to the one in Garnet’s piece but simpler. I start with a near-black canvas, and gradually slap on lighter colours of different hues. This way I might be able able to get over the problem I have with using low contrast, washed out/light colours.

Since I am the one working on these, I actually can’t tell the difference between this and my old wips ]: But I kind of like this method as it feels a lot easier to figure out how to shade in certain places. I feel like there is some extra steps in the current process that could be removed to make it faster but I’ll leave that for next time lols.

While waiting for my internet connection to stop sucking dick, I spent a lot of time drawing. I haven’t gotten commission refs still so I started working on these profile portraits I had from last year (and since it’s almost the end of the year, that’d probably make this file like… 2 years old……) I had half the line art done lying around anyways so I finished it and started colouring it. I made her look totally like a vampire ROFL

At least now I think I can finally make some progress with that character section of mine… somewhat…

I was looking for something on the computer to colour, since I haven’t drawn any Blackbird stuff for centuries, and I found this.

I believe it was done sometime early last year or something like that and I don’t remember why I dropped it. Maybe it was cus I was scared of it? LOLOLOL I doubt I will pick this up now (maybe later), but this is someone from the Blackbird story who I have only drawn once aside from this picture.

In other news: I’m sick! and my mom’s reaction was like “oh no big deal, everyone’s gotta get sick once in a while” which is very a;lsdjfaks;djfdsljfksl since she’s the type to go batshit crazy about everything.
