I had a sketch that looked like this from a few years ago for the cover of volume 1, but I redid the sketch because it was so outdated that the sketch was impossible to be improved. As I was drawing it I kept thinking to myself, I should’ve made at least one of them more feminine when I wrote the story ): at least then the cover would look more enticing

Also I’ve discovered Blackbird’s fatal weakness:

Oh man that lineart work is beautiful.
Are you going to do another tutorial anytime soon?

It’s alright XD I don’t feel much change in photoshop, but people have already pointed that out before I bought it. at least it looks a lot slicker than the old one LOL

Lovely cover! How are you finding your new tablet?

No, no–we likes both our heroines as unrepentantly cool as they are. ;-) Anyway, BB can be pretty flirtatious, so on the next cover that features her (when she’ll be allowed to look less awesomely mysterious), you can make her cute and flirty for all the silly fanboys to go bonkers over. :P Anyway, you have Meirin for that sort of thing, don’t you?
Gorgeous cover, btw–I really do love BB when she’s looking all shadowy and powerful like this. ^^ Of course, her chibified scarf-throttled form is cute too~

Both of them rock, Shilin. And scarf-chocking Blackbird is win. XD
