I’d like to say I’m doing 2 commissions at the moment on top of working to finish the first volume of blackbird, but for all the work, I still have nothing to post ]:

This way of colouring is working out quite well for me though. It’s a lot smoother than when I drew sepia’s archbishop, and it took a lot less time to refine because I actually did the line art and just hid it. I always wonder if a really clean sketch can go in place of line art since I can do a clean sketch much faster, but I’ll leave that for next time.

Old habits die hard, or so they say. Maybe you could try hiding the sketch when eyedroping?

I’ve tried painting over sketches, but I end up smudging a lot of the pencil gray into the colour since I eyedrop around the area a lot ): that was a bad habit

If you really think about it, a clean sketch and a lineart make no difference if you’re going to hide them in the end. The sketch allows you to keep even more elements than a lineart… there’s such a curious difference between both, sketches always hold the artist’s “true” style. Don’t mind me~
The image looks incredible so far, especially her face ^^

Looks smooth and clean :D! I’m sure there is a way to work with a very clean sketch or pencil lineart, I know dA’s ippus used to work with pencil lineart for her cg artwork and I’m certain there are many people who’s cg art process involves working with a clean sketch, so give it a try!
