I’M ON A ROLL WITH THESE SCRAPS they’re piling up at an exponential rate I’m going to be so screwed
My friend showed me this song called “haruame” on nico video, which means spring rain, created on VOCALOID by AVtechNO. It’s an alternate version; the “official” version sounds kinda generic and boring, but this version really hit me after a few listenings. I don’t known why I have such a depressed impression of it, but the image was strong and I really wanted to draw it even though I’m not that great at creating atmosphere. I’m kinda annoyed though because half way through drawing it, I realized there was a scene like this in Shin Angyo Onshi. damn my inability to remember ANYTHING when it mattered
I didn’t rely much on the lyrics because it was hard to translate. The image mostly came from when I heard the irony of the title in the orchestration. I haven’t been so in love with a new song for a really long time, but I don’t know if others will hear it the same way I do. Hopefully you can hear the song in this sketch!

THE DRAMA. But I love it. The emotion in the piece is fantastic. It's really heart-wrenching and I just want to comfort Vel so much. Why do you have to make me wish your characters were real ;_;

I had more in mind for the background which actually shows as to why she's like this (and no it's not blackbird ROFL), but then it took too much attention away from simply her and the rain ):

I actually like that you kept it simple that way. The rain just brings you to focus on Vel. Since it's on her and the nearby sword and blood, it just draws you to take in the expression on her face (which is absolutely filled with emotion). I have to admit, I kept coming back to this post throughout today, looking at every detail and taking in all the mood and expression.

Most likely the angst is also the result of Veloce finding out that she cannot be the king of Ye Olde England. Damn that sword in the stone[ground]—I know I would be pretty bummed as well :P
Still, the song (which is quite catchy) is very much reflected in the portrayal of mood that is being established in this piece— emotional angst and tragedy makes wonderful masterpieces after all. The distribution of blood also tells a very interesting, yet vague, story as well and puts more meaning into the language of the posture and environment. Overall, everything from the body language to the colors makes this picture just own the world.
