ok some of you do not read Blackbird so just ignore the bottom right message lmao… Last time I drew something for the holidays was 2 or 3 years ago. I would love to put more effort into a nicer looking image but I just don’t have the time ):

Last time I did a end of year summary/new years resolution was also way back, with very unclear goals such as STOP BEING LAZY… I’m going to try being specific this time but I usually don’t follow these goals because things happen and forced deadlines = bad product ):

2010 ups:

• Got a lot of progress on Blackbird. Finished off volume 1 FINALLY (sans a few pages untoned) and chapter 4 is almost finished, too
• Made good money from commissions and found what to do/what not to do for commissions
• (hopefully) have better understanding/feel for manga drawing… not sure if I got better because I actually liked what I used to be able to do for manga pages in terms of layout
• Managed my time decently well and worked HARDDDDDD, especially towards the end of the year
• Not as strangled by pride/dignity/doubts and did what I need to do to take a step forward in career, mainly trying to get Blackbird published
• Had a chance to work on a commissioned manga project for a really awesome guy! Learned LOTS
• Parents are more accepting of my career choice because I’m taking solid steps
• Overall I feel pretty fulfilled this year, satisfied with my progress while enjoying it

2010 downs:

• Planned to publish this year but I’m still not 100% finished with volume 1 ):
• Didn’t get to draw much for myself
• Cannot control my CG style LOL I LIKE TOO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS
• Haven’t played piano for AGES
• I think my procrastination habit got worse. put off phone calls/art requests for months and months
• Too buried in career related things, didn’t go out much ):
• I’m surprised I can’t think of too many downs for 2010. Most of the stuff that sucked balls happened between graduation and end of 2009 because it was like the period where parents constantly go WELL WTF ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW

2011 resolutions:

• GET BLACKBIRD PUBLISHED LIKE SERIOUSLY
• I would say balance work and socializing but I know that won’t happen, because every day is PRECIOUS for a career while I’m still “young”. I would like to think I am 4 years late in this field because of my major so I need to catch up… I can always adopt if I can’t find a man because I waited too long LOL MY MOM WILL BE SO PISSED IF SHE SEES THIS
• Try, try TRY to maintain stable income/find a steady job in the field
• Take some time out regularly and do anatomy and other basic exercises that I didn’t end up doing this year because my basics suck dick
• Continue my recent attempt to hang out with people regularly
• Save a goal amount of money to give to my parents (don’t know how/if I should do this though)
• Remember to play piano lol ahhh
• BE MORE SHAMELESS AND FIGHT FOR DEM STUFFS I WANT

I suddenly feel bored and restless from working these past few days and I have no idea why, since this usually doesn’t happen. So I took a break and shat out 2 sketches (which didn’t help much). I kind of like sketching on the computer now after drawing the super secret manga digitally from scratch! I used to hate it because it feels weird ):

ok I don’t like Tumblr anymore because aside from the fact that it loads slowly, it also goes down pretty frequently ): And since people mentioned there are new features coming up in WordPress 3.1 that would cover what I like about Tumblr, I think I’ll keep my main blog here and just post the scraps/sketches I like the most over at Tumblr or something!

Telephone frauds are especially rampant these days in China, and somehow they reach from China to overseas as well. My dad got a call the other day and this is basically what happened

And CD cover commission wip! When was the last time I CGed LOL. I am getting the craving to draw Blackbird stuff again; I suddenly want to CG lots and lots of poster style artworks for Blackbird but ahhhh so much work to doooo

I miss Reason so much ): writing a song in Sibelius and listening to the midi playback is totally destroying my enjoyment of composition…
