Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (: I finished my work early so I could do some CGing which I dearly missed.
I Livestreamed tonight and did the rough colours for this! I have no idea what to do with it now; I don’t like drawing line art, but finishing this without lines is going to kill me. I do hope to be able to finish this in time for v-day or something though, even though it’s totally gay
And I spent yesterday drawing weirin’s profile picture. Only Blackbird and Iriel left now LOL I am so relieved that I could still draw it in the same style as Veloce and Keri, which were done like 2 years ago or something. I hate her colours so much too LOL. PURPLE GOES WITH NOTHING and I had such limited choices because I already decided the shades of her outfit in the manga. The colour swatches I had at the side looked like distant light speckles so I decided to filter the shit out of the wip. I figured I’m bad at filtering so why not get some (indiscriminate) practice in!
And here’s a mess I made a few days ago. I supposed I should work on some of the chara designs for the next part of Blackbird even though I don’t really feel like it… because I’m not that crazy about drawing old people and animals, but I have to sooner or later ): I figured I should do the Chief’s cat form first and derive the human form from there to maybe, MAYBE make him look a little more distinguishable. But so far the human form looks like the king with a lot of hair so it’s not working LOL. And the animal form beast-humans take can change but not easily. They don’t grow larger over time, for example Meron’s cat form is as small as Iriel’s, because she prefers it that way. This chief, as you can see, prefers to be a huge tiger unicat!
On a random note, I’ve always had this HUGE pet peeve of watching young people play video games music, or “compose” or “improvise” piano music on places like youtube. The former is ok but the latter two just piss the shit off of me for pretty retarded reasons. I rarely ever watch these videos myself but once in a while I will get linked to one that is “impressive” or “popular”, and I get really annoyed because I can dissect the music by ear. By the time it finishes playing I would’ve figured out everything about it without extra hearings because it’s that shallow; yet people will like it because it sounds showy, nice, or both.
I am annoyed because I know I feel this way out of the elitist mentality in me: I can do what they can do (so can a lot of other people in fact, it takes no skill). Yet I can’t help but to look down on people who do this, and then get upset at the attention they reap because they’re fine with being shallow and I’m not. People will be marveling at these simple indulgences instead of listening to music that has even a slight bit more content in them. They make pop music look good!
The worst part about this is I am in the shoes of these showoffs when it comes to art, because what I do for art is basically what they do for music (LOL ANIMU VS REAL ARTSIES) Knowing this I still can’t forgive the fact that they take pride in being the frogs at the bottom of a well. MY DOUBLE STANDARD IS ASTROCIOUS ]: Sometimes I wish I hadn’t gone to university for music so I don’t feel so overconfident in this area
a documentary that is long, cheesy and probably contains unreliable info, but hits all the right spots to win my heart. I’ll be stealing honouring the concepts of perfection vs artistry in Blackbird :D

everyone around me don't even consider anime as part of art =.= they consider it as a childish thing. once i was arguing with someone about anime being art not childish, and the ones who make animations are adults, but her response was "those adults make animations to trick children"… I got pissed off but didn't argue with her any further cause its pointless XD she will never change her mind
i don't know any anime artist around me, if i meet an artist then they will be painters. so they all look down on me for being anime artist

but i know how you feel about those showoffs… in my case its not music but language, but i always felt horrible for looking down on them… i always think "WHY ARE THEY SOO HORRIBLE LIKE THAT?? I SHOULD BE THE IDIOT ONE YET THEY ARE WORSE THAN ME" XDD

I really loved the video!! i want to learn how to play the piano one day!! right now i'm only learning the pieces that i like (mostly Beethoven) while skipping the basics but i want to learn it probably one day… after i find a piano teacher since its hard to find one here >.>;;

Purples goes with black and white! 8D (So do all the colours). But there are some manga where the colours of the characters are inconsistent with the tones. *coughRanma1/2cough*

I don't think you're a show-off. Taking pride in what you do is natural and much better than being all pessimistic about it (I do that far too often and believe me, it's no good being like that because it actually has a bad effect on things e.g; studies). Art also has no true definite form, so to say that anime is the bottom is depended upon opinions really. I don't think it's good to rate which art form is better because art is all about expression. Placing a rigid structure is just hindering.
Besides, it's the people who draw and don't take any form of criticism that's truly at the bottom.

haha I'm just very conflicted with my own double standards LOL. I don't mind most variations of art or music but once the performer/composer start acting like they're the shit, I start getting pissed off and get a crazy urge to tear apart their creation ROFL

Hooray! Finally I saw a picture in which painted Veloce and Blackbird. Very nice. I have this picture in black and white but in color as it is very beautiful.

I've seen how different authors draw manga zverolyudey. All of them are different and all of their beautiful. I am familiar with one manga Arnestad, so there is an artist in the main draws more eyes and hair characters, as well as it was strongly characteristic of the background and the objects around the characters.

It's just wonderful. We're still playing on the same musical instrument. I play the piano and balalaika (You probably know that a Russian folk instrument)
