airbrush

I didn’t know why but a week or so ago I wanted to draw some boobs ;_; I did some topless tribal sketches before suddenly deciding I wanted to try airbrushing entire figures out of figure blobs rather than following a line sketch. So I did a totally simplified version of the topless tribal sketches with convenient censorship!

And then I felt bad wasting time on stuff like this when I should be working, so I punished myself by cutting her hair :T

airbrushing worked pretty well compared to previous attempts, but it’s because it’s like totally frontal with all aspects of anatomy that I don’t understand excluded from the drawing hahaha! I still feel it’s way easier to draw lines but I tried it once again with the back of a figure and something other than skin

It still has that rigidness and awkwardness that come with painting without lines for me, but movement aside, it was fun to draw into white highlights! I want to do more but ALAS I HAVE ANIMUS TO COMPLETE

Panel from page 50! up to 58 is complete now and based on my math, unless I turn out 6 pages a week starting now (which is pretty much impossible unless I disappear off the face of the internet), I can’t finish and release volume 3 by the end of the year ): oh well~ I learned a lot of other stuff by flunking this deadline so it’s all good

I personally always liked your airbrushed, lineless work a lot better :).

I guess that means you'll push book 3 back to early next year or something? :P

    • yeah, it's just more of an ASAP situation now, which is never good in terms of getting things published timely but we'll see!

omg, looks like Veloce has waaaay too many fingers x] but my mind slapped itself and then sorted it out. I think we rather see you and random illustrations that you'll put out more than a new volume. Those illustrations can go toward your new art book, too! No time wasted at all C:

  • Those first two airbrush attempts, totally give off this magazine, supermodel, print-ad vibe, it's great! I've gotta say, I totally respect and admire people who do the whole line less/airbrushed cging. To me, without any inked lineart, things would be too chaotic and disorganized, but then, not all artwork needs to be crisp and perfect. And you're on a roll with those comic pages!
