I had my artbook proof shipped to me through express post… 12 days ago. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO GET HERE IN 4-5 DAYS augh fuck you post office!!! I’ve been dreaming of it arriving for many nights lol it was not cool waking up to disappointment after disappointment. I got woken up by the doorbell today and I was pretty sure it would be my book because it requires signature, but it was like 9am and I was half dead so I decided to not get up for it (my grandma got it). I went ahead to have like SIX dreams drifting in and out of sleep about it. First I dreamed that it wasn’t my package. Then I dreamed that it was an artbook but not my art book LOL??? I looked at the cover and inside art and it was all someone else’s art. Then I dreamed it was my artbook and had carciphona art in it but they’re all weird and drawn in like 80s shoujo manga style LMFAO I WAS LIKE WTF IS THIS, DID I DRAW THIS………… NO I DIDNT WTF. Each time I’d slowly come to and realize I’m still in bed augh… after I finally got up I got a headache from not sleeping well ):

I would take more detailed pictures of it but it is like the worst proof I’ve ever seen really, having endured a LOT of shipping crap and being dropped everywhere, and dirty because the envelope corners broke and dirt got inside… I would take more pictures of it just to show off how thick and legit this thing looks but I also inserted an extra page on the very front of the pdf by accident so the entire book got shifted over one page LOL GOD I AM SO PRO… so now the left pages are on the right and the right are on the left. This book is so full of misfortune and failure but whatever trouble and delay I encounter, I’d rather have it happen now and pray for the safety of my final books ):

Oh I forgot to mention that the cover is two sheets of paper taped together because it’s too long horizontally, since there are folding flabs off to the side. this thing is sooooo ghetto you don’t even know

(┛°Д°)┛ノ ┻━┻ I decided to take a break from drawing manga pages (have 4 more pages done) by drawing something quick and random, and by quick and random I actually meant takes me like 10 hours and kill my pencil `u` And the best part of this was I didn’t mean for it to be a full page or expect to do any intense shading so I did it in my SKETCHBOOK and the binding coil and edges of the book were killing me LOL GOD I HATE SKETCHBOOKS Q____Q and it was a little too big to scan pfff

About the picture, if you don’t read CP/don’t remember, the black crap isn’t veloce’s summons or soul or friends or enemies, they’re just there to harass people who can see them. She could see them a long time ago but I guess after I read xxxholic I really got influenced on how the spirits there just pile on watanuki HAHA. Also the picture is kind of ruined by the fact that she looks like she’s hip locking like a boss but I didnt’ want to fix the lines in photoshop because I would have to change so much shit ):

ok back to working on ACTUAL PAGES after the 1 day detour…………

I have a relative who will be moving to Canada in January, and my dad suggested to me that if I have any books that I can print at that date, I can save a few hundred dollars on shipping by just shipping it with her cargo. Naturally I thought about my manga but in order to finish it JUST in time to be printed, I have to draw 4 pages a week starting now (excluding NYAF week) until mid dec. It’s something I was going to try in the summer but never had the time and urgency for, and now it’s being shoved in my face. I am going to do it just to see if I can keep up with this kind of schedule (well, I know for sure I can, it’s just whether I want to live by this or not HAHA… I’m really lax with my schedules and always make it so that I get minimum amount of stress from meeting deadlines because WHO LIKES DEADLINES) and if anything I would have a good buffer of unposted pages for various purposes? I already have the rest of the book thumbnailed back in May or June, so all the work left is drawing it out. If it works out in the end, I’ll have CP2 available for sale like 2-3 months before I finish posting all the pages. And if I don’t go insane from this I might keep doing it so that we all won’t be like 80 when CP finishes lmfao

A sketch I forgot about that I did during fanexpo haha; I did some sketches that I was going to post after i fixed them up/coloured them but I didn’t find any time this week lol ;; I’ll try to remember that next week. This is a redesign of an old chara that I posted about ages and ages ago and never did anything for. He’s the archbishop named Syro but I’m probably changing his name later cus it’s lame LMAO. He was older but since there is obviously a lack of young characters in Carciphona that look alike I am making him younger. He’s amazingly traditional and conservative but only because he believes he has no choice except to be as responsible as possible, and that if he cares about his own concerns he’d be putting countless other people’s concerns in jeopardy. Guilt tripping works wonders on him.

I’m pretty sure no one can figure out wtf is going on in this sketch but this is a great example of what my design doodles look like; I kind of go out of control when I’m making designs for the first time because I’m too lazy to draw new figures for designs so I just draw lines on the same figure over and over again until it becomes uselessly incomprehensible LOL. I’ll totally go insane and frustrated about having waste time on neatness if I were a concept artist lol ]: Archbishop is just his title; he is a summoner and he uses his holy shit ceremonial staff for that. It’s supposed to be turn upside down and played like a doublebass (I just wanted an excuse to make more impractical musical weapons) He has a huge crush on veloce that will never play out because romance is not allowed in Carciphona LOLGOD

IN OTHER UNRELATED NEWS, Islamey gets mentioned a lot when I was in college because it was supposed to be the most difficult piece to play up to that era or something; a lot of people talk about it when I played Scarbo since they get compared a lot for virtuosity, but I never really liked Islamey as a song because it sounds really over the top and generic to me lmao ): But I was looking for good recordings of it and came across Berezovsky’s and holy crap does he make it sound good. I love how he plays Liszt and… I guess this is perfect for him LOL. The only thing I don’t like about it is he plays a lot of passages dry without pedaling just because he can. It’s pretty fucking amazing but in the end I always prefer the noisier performances XD

Holy crap it’s a non-convention post

I wanted to swap out my manga site and storenvy background with something that looks good and at the same time reflects the story. I didn’t find ANY usable drawings because all the pictures I’m happy with are out of universe, and all the pictures that I can use suck (also amounts to the grand total of like 3 pictures). So I decided to draw something simple and generic for this purpose. I think I got the generic part but LIKE ALWAYS, I failed the simple part and took forever just to finish the lines and roughs lol q__q

The colour scheme and brown light makes her look like link for some reason… I think it’s the green hair ribbon looking like his pointy hat hahaha

And something I doodled at fanexpo! 3 really really old characters (you can actually find a shittyass line up of them in their first incarnation in this blog) that solved my Carciphona plot problem when I made them XD But because I can’t mention them for like another 10 years or something I never had any situations to draw them, aside from the ram girl on my website layout but I fired her LOL. Their names are Stigma, Eqin, and super secret name I can’t mention. The titles refer to them, but they’re out of order so you can guess which one is for which!

I look like a drug addict right now with a red eye and dazed head from allergies, shaking from weakness due to lack of rest and overwork during one of the worst monthly gifts. I just started taking down yesterday at FanEXPO while everyone is still trying to rake in last minute sales because I could like barely stay sane from the exhaustion (and I didn’t even do shit man I just sat there the whole day like every other con) and got the hell out LOL. Ate a chicken drumstick when I got home at 8pm and just slept until 1pm today HAHA holy crap. But I brought this on myself because instead of sleeping Saturday night, I tried to get the minor alterations for my artbook done so I could upload the 500mb file overnight and save time, and have it sent to the printer by day and let them make the proof copy while I was still at the con to save time. But since I was half asleep I missaved all my flattened and paginated files to cmyk at the wrong step and fucked up their colours LOL and ended up having to paginate them again with my raw psd pages… It took me all day today to get that done, but I guess since I’m mostly ok now I was able to do some other major improvements to the book that I would not have done had I sent the file off Saturday night. Can’t wait for the proof to get here!
